GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) is an industry driven global collaboration to advance food safety. Their vision is “Safe food for consumers everywhere.” The bench marking and requirements recognized by GFSI are certified through Certification Programme Owners. Vita is certified through BRC Global Standards.
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an international non-profit organization. MSC has a fishery certification program that recognizes sustainable fishing practices and an eco-label that identifies seafood products to help people make choices when buying. Vita is committed to helping bring sustainable seafood to the market. Vita has been part of this certification program since 2007.
BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) is committed to responsible and sustainable farm raised seafood through respect for the environment, workers and food safety. The rigorous standards for certification are administered by the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) a nonprofit organization. BAP is the only third-party aquaculture program to be compliant with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), Global Social Compliance Programme (GSCP) and Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI). Vita was the first BAP certified smokehouse in North America.
The Non-GMO project is a mission driven nonprofit organization dedicated to building and protecting a non-GMO Project Verified brands; and training resources and merchandising materials provided to retailers. Non-GMO Project Verified remains the market leader for GMO avoidance and one of the fastest growing labels in the retail sector. Orthodox Union(OU) is the world’s largest kosher certification agency certifying over 1 million products worldwide. OU Kosher provides kosher certification for over 1 million products in more than 8,500 plants worldwide.
The Gluten-Free Certification Organization(GFCO), is dedicated to providing certification services to producers of gluten-free products using quality assessment and control measures throughout production, in order to provide assurance to consumers of the safety of their foods. GFCO certifies companies and manufacturers worldwide using the strictest standards for certification at 10ppm or less.
