Bowtie pasta tossed with vinaigrette dressing, julienne vegetables and Vita Herring in Wine Sauce for a great salad.
Serves Up To: 4 Servings
Bring water to a boil, and then add 1 lb of bowtie pasta. While the pasta is boiling, thinly slice the red onion, the pepper and dice your tomatoes.
Next, take the herring and cut them into smaller pieces. In a large bowl combine the vegetables and herring, and pour 1 C of Italian dressing into the mix.
Toss in the premade bacon pieces. When the pasta is finished, strain and put into a separate large serving dish. Pour the dressing mixture over the pasta and mix it all together, evenly distributing the veggies and herring.
Finally, sprinkle 1/2 C of Romano cheese over the salad and give it one more stir. Refrigerate for at least one hour and serve.
